Xiaomi 17 Series is Getting a Surprise New Model With The Lineup’s Biggest Battery Yet

We all thought we were done with Xiaomi’s main flagship lineup of phones, the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. But as it turns out, there was one still left that we did not see coming: the Xiaomi 17 Max.

According to a fresh leak from China, the surprise new device is expected to be called the Xiaomi 17 Max, which would stand out within the lineup by offering the largest battery seen on any Xiaomi 17 series phone so far.

Battery and Charging Upgrades

The leak claims the Xiaomi 17 Max will pack an 8,000 mAh battery. The cell is expected to support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, placing it at the top of the series in terms of battery capacity and charging capabilities.

The Xiaomi 17 Max is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. On the design side, the phone is said to feature a display with extremely narrow and symmetrical bezels. Its rear camera island design is expected to closely resemble that of the standard Xiaomi 17.

Camera Upgrades

In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi 17 Max is said to use the same main camera as the Xiaomi 17. However, it will reportedly add a periscope telephoto camera, giving it an edge in zoom capabilities. Overall camera performance is expected to be slightly better than that of the regular Xiaomi 17.

There is no confirmed launch timeline for the Xiaomi 17 Max at this stage. With leaks already starting to surface, more details about the device are likely to emerge in the coming weeks.
