AIOU Simplifies Degree and Certificate Issuance Process

Allama Iqbal Open University has announced the complete digitization of its degree, diploma, and certificate issuance process, marking a major shift toward paperless administration.

Under the new system, the university will automatically issue degrees and certificates to students admitted from Fall 2024 onward, removing the requirement to submit separate applications. The change aims to simplify the process and improve speed and transparency.

The university has also extended online services to students enrolled from Spring 2021 onward who have completed their academic programs. These students can now submit degree or certificate requests through the CMS portal under the “Student Service Request” section by using the newly introduced digital degree form. This replaces the earlier manual application process.

However, students admitted in Fall 2020 or earlier will continue to receive their degrees and certificates under the existing procedures.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood said the initiative prioritizes student convenience and strengthens administrative efficiency. He said the digitization effort will reduce delays and allow students to obtain official academic documents without unnecessary complications.
