Lahore Traffic Police Get Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

Lahore Traffic Police have inducted electric and hybrid vehicles into their official patrol fleet, confirming a shift toward environmentally friendly transport in the city.

The development came to light after videos showing traffic police officers using modern electric vehicles circulated widely on social media, drawing public attention and speculation. The footage showed patrol vehicles with official police markings that appeared to be electric models.

Officials from the Lahore Traffic Police confirmed that the department has added New Energy Vehicles to its fleet as part of ongoing operational upgrades. According to the department, two vehicle models are currently in use.

These include the BYD Atto 3, a fully electric SUV, and the BYD Shark 6, a plug in hybrid electric pickup truck. The vehicles have been inducted for routine patrolling and operational duties.
