Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin on Friday inaugurated a modern two-acre playland for families at Lahore’s historic Greater Iqbal Park, adding a new attraction to the city’s recreational landscape.
Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Vice Chairman Ghazali Saleem Butt and Director General PHA Raja Mansoor accompanied the minister during the inauguration ceremony.
Addressing the event, Bilal Yasin emphasized the importance of quality recreational facilities in public parks. He said that providing safe and engaging spaces for children and families promotes healthy activities and strengthens community life.
Officials briefed the minister that the playland has been designed on the pattern of Disneyland and features modern motion rides and amusement facilities.
They added that all swings and equipment installed at the site have received fitness certification from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), ensuring safety standards.
The minister directed PHA authorities to strictly enforce fitness certificates and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in all public parks. He stressed that public safety and maintenance must remain top priorities.
The newly launched playland is expected to become a major attraction for Lahore families and further enhance the recreational value of Greater Iqbal Park.
