Regional Parks and Horticulture Authorities operating under the Punjab Horticulture Authority will expand the “Adopt-a-Park” scheme to other cities across Punjab following its earlier launch in Lahore.

The decision was announced by PHA Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmad during a Zoom meeting with other regional managing directors.

He said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to prioritize the beautification of cities. He instructed horticulture agencies to focus on the maintenance and beautification of parks, gardens, and green belts.

The DG also stressed the importance of ensuring the timely availability of required materials for the upcoming floral plantation season.

He directed all regional agencies to promptly submit their requirements related to staff, machinery, and financial resources to the parent authority. These needs will then be compiled into a consolidated proposal for submission to the provincial government.

He further instructed officials to collect details of Beldars currently working in various government departments and to take necessary steps to secure their services for regional horticulture agencies.

Earlier in the meeting, managing directors briefed participants on the available resources and the challenges faced by their respective agencies.
