BYD is preparing to expand its electric vehicle lineup in Pakistan by introducing two new models, both expected to hit the market before the end of January.
The company will launch the Atto 2 and the Sealion 7. The Atto 2, sold in China as the BYD Yuan Up, is a subcompact electric SUV positioned below the Atto 3.
Internationally, BYD introduced the Atto 2 in China in March 2024 and later in Australia in November 2025. Other markets sell the model under names such as Yuan Pro and S1 Pro. The vehicle uses BYD’s e Platform 3.0 electric architecture.
It offers Blade Battery technology with two battery sizes, including a 32 kWh pack with an estimated 301 km CLTC range and a 45.1 kWh pack with an estimated 401 km CLTC range. The standard version produces 94 horsepower, while higher trims deliver 174 horsepower.
The more powerful variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in about 7.9 seconds. The Atto 2 supports DC fast charging and can charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in around 28 minutes.
The second model, the Sealion 7, is a midsize electric SUV that sits above the Atto 3 in BYD’s lineup. In global markets, it competes with midsize electric crossovers such as the Tesla Model Y. BYD began production of the Sealion 7 in May 2024 and launched it in selected export markets, including Hong Kong and Europe, in October 2024.
In China, the Sealion 7 uses BYD’s e Platform 3.0 Evo with an 800 volt electrical system, while export market versions typically use the standard e Platform 3.0 with a 400 volt setup. The model uses Blade Battery technology with battery capacities ranging from 71.8 kWh to 82.5 kWh or 91.3 kWh, depending on the market.
Rear wheel drive versions produce either 228 horsepower or 308 horsepower, while the dual motor all wheel drive variant delivers 523 horsepower. The performance version accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in as little as 4.5 seconds.
The Sealion 7 supports DC fast charging of up to 230 kW, allowing a charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 24 minutes. BYD has not announced pricing or variant details for Pakistan. At present, the only confirmed information is the arrival of the Atto 2 and the Sealion 7 by the end of January.
