Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has launched a major beautification project along Grand Trunk Road, covering the stretch from Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-I to Phase-II and the area in front of Bahria Town.
Following directives from RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza, work on the project has officially begun with a focus on transforming this key corridor into a visually appealing and environmentally friendly route.
The project includes extensive plantation, the creation of green belts, aesthetic enhancements such as painting, and the installation of decorative pools. RDA has also established regular monitoring and maintenance procedures to ensure the sustainability and long-term impact of the work.
DG Kinza Murtaza said the initiative aligns with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for Rawalpindi, emphasizing the importance of combining beauty, functionality, and sustainability in urban development.
She directed all relevant directorates to ensure the project is completed on time, maintained properly, and meets strict quality standards.
