Zarea Limited on Wednesday announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth $2 million with Wang Chuang Xi Jun Chang Agri Ltd for an initial phase of cooperation, according to a notice issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The agreement was signed during the Pak–China Investment Conference held in Islamabad.
In its filing, Zarea said the MoU relates to exploring potential collaboration in Pakistan’s agriculture sector, including the possible introduction of seed technologies, agronomic and farm services, labour and grower management systems, and production frameworks.
The company stated that the engagement will also examine opportunities to enhance agricultural trade between Pakistan and China, as well as supply chain processes.
Zarea noted that the collaboration may involve the exchange of technical knowledge and assessment of export linkages for agricultural produce, subject to further evaluation and commercial arrangements.
The MoU represents an initial step, and any future projects or investments will be subject to further agreements, regulatory approvals, and feasibility assessments, the company said.
Zarea Limited was incorporated in September 2020 and operates a digital business-to-business platform facilitating trade in cement, steel, agricultural biomass, and construction materials.
