New PTA Tax Values for Used iPhone 14 Series in Pakistan

Note: These rates are based on estimates, so the final price you pay for these phones may vary.

PTA tax values for smartphones have been updated following a recent revision in custom values by FBR. This applies to importers bringing in old and used phones into Pakistan, meaning end consumers like you and me will not see any changes to the PTA tax while getting their personal devices PTA-approved.

However, this change does mean cheaper used phones in Pakistan for brands including Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, and Google. Since we have already talked about the iPhone 15 series, it’s time to touch on the new PTA tax values for the iPhone 14 lineup.

The new PTA tax value for an iPhone 14 is now Rs. 24,584 ($210 custom value) as per FBR’s revised numbers. Adding this to the usual price of a non-PTA used iPhone 14, which is usually around Rs. 100,000 – Rs. 120,000, the final retail value of a PTA-approved iPhone 14 based on the new rates should be about Rs. 120,000 – Rs. 150,000.

A used iPhone 14 Pro without PTA approval usually goes for Rs. 120,000 to Rs. 140,000 in the local market. If you add its new PTA tax value of Rs. 28,616 ($290 custom value) on top, you get a final retail value of Rs. 150,000 – Rs. 170,000, with a bit of profit margins added on top.

A used iPhone 14 Pro Max without PTA approval can currently be grabbed for Rs. 150,000 to Rs. 170,000 in the local market. Its new PTA tax value, based on a custom value of $360, comes out to be Rs. 39,944, meaning the new retail value can be expected to be around Rs. 200,000 and above.

Note that these new prices will take some time to take effect.
