Meanwhile, the Punjab government has already approved a local holiday in Lahore on February 6 for the Basant Festival, following recommendations from the district administration.

The move aims to facilitate safe and organized celebrations across the city.

As a result, Lahore will observe four consecutive holidays from Thursday to Sunday, creating a long weekend.

Officials said the government declared Friday a holiday to reduce traffic congestion and ensure public safety during Basant events.

Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner Lahore has urged parents to ensure that children under 18 attend Basant celebrations only in the presence of family members, emphasizing safety and discipline during the festivities.
