The Sindh government has declared a public holiday on February 5, 2026, across the province to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department on Monday, all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government will remain closed on the day.
Essential services, however, will continue to operate as usual. The notification also directed that a one-minute silence be observed at 10:00 a.m. to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir.
Earlier, the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department had announced a holiday for all public and private educational institutions across the province on February 4, 2026, on account of Shab-e-Barat. Schools and colleges will therefore remain closed for two consecutive days due to the religious and national observances.
The February 5 holiday was announced through an official order signed by the Chief Secretary Sindh and circulated to all relevant departments, authorities, and institutions for implementation.
Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed annually across Pakistan to reaffirm support for the right of self-determination of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to express solidarity with them through official events and observances.
