The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather outlook for Basant 2026 in Lahore, predicting mostly favorable conditions for festival activities over the three-day period.
According to the forecast, mainly dry weather with clear skies is expected in Lahore on February 6 and 7. The outlook for February 8, 2026 also remains dry, although a few cloudy spells may develop.
The PMD added that light westerly to northwesterly winds are likely during the festival, with speeds expected to remain around 10 to 15 km/h. The department said the wind pattern is generally suitable for kite flying.
However, the PMD urged people to remain careful while taking part in Basant celebrations. Kite flyers have been advised to avoid flying near electricity lines and to stay alert around open roads to reduce the risk of accidents.
