Major Pakistani City to Become Sister City of New York

The process to declare Peshawar and New York as sister cities has progressed after the New York City Mayor’s Office sent a draft agreement to the Governor House.

KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi welcomed the development and described the proposed partnership as a positive step toward international cooperation. He said the New York City Mayor’s Office views the initiative as an effort to strengthen people-to-people ties between Pakistan and the United States.

Under the proposed agreement, Peshawar and New York would cooperate in areas including education, economic development, youth skills training, science and technology, cultural exchange, and official visits.
