Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has moved up in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Bowler Rankings, continuing his strong run after a series-winning performance in Pakistan’s 3-0 home clean sweep of Australia.
Abrar finished as Pakistan’s second-highest wicket-taker in the series with six wickets, consistently applying pressure through the middle overs and providing timely breakthroughs when Australia tried to accelerate.
With the T20 World Cup 2026 in Sri Lanka just around the corner, Abrar’s rise is a major boost for Pakistan’s bowling plans. Alongside Usman Tariq, he is widely seen as one of the most effective spin options in Pakistan’s current squad, particularly valuable in Sri Lankan conditions where quality spin can decide games.
Abrar’s surge in form is also reflected in franchise cricket decisions. He has been retained by Quetta Gladiators ahead of the PSL 11 player auction.
