The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved funding to procure five modern vehicle testing units to improve inspection services in Islamabad amid rising vehicle numbers.
The new units aim to strengthen the authority’s capacity to conduct faster and more reliable inspections, ensuring vehicles meet safety and environmental standards.
Increased traffic in the federal capital has placed growing pressure on existing facilities, creating delays in testing services.
According to official documents, the new units will use advanced technology to speed up inspections while improving accuracy and compliance checks.
The upgrade is expected to reduce wait times and provide a more efficient and user-friendly experience for vehicle owners.
Officials say the initiative will also help enforce road safety regulations and emission standards, supporting CDA’s broader plan to reduce transport-related environmental impact and improve road safety in the city.
