The Punjab Public Service Commission has approved a new policy allowing candidates to request a change of examination centre in limited and exceptional cases.
Under the policy, candidates may apply for a centre change on specific grounds, including medical reasons, clash of examinations, marriage or death of a close family member, pregnancy or maternity in the case of female candidates, natural disasters, or serious law and order situations.
PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed issued the notification after final approval from Commission Chairman retired Lt Gen Abdul Aziz.
The commission has made it mandatory for applicants to submit authentic and verifiable documentary evidence with their requests. Officials said applications without proper proof will not be entertained.
In addition, the policy allows the commission to consider requests on a case-by-case basis in exceptional circumstances such as a change of residence, official transfer, or accessibility issues faced by persons with special needs. These requests will also require supporting documents.
The PPSC has clarified that employees of the commission who apply for any post will be assigned Lahore as their examination centre, and no request for a change will be accepted in such cases.
