Cement prices in Pakistan’s northern region have increased by Rs. 25 per bag, taking the average price to around Rs. 1,430 per bag, according to JS Global.
The brokerage said the hike follows an earlier price adjustment made in late January 2026, suggesting a gradual upward trend in cement prices amid changing market dynamics.
Industry sources added that manufacturers are passing on higher production and distribution costs to consumers, while demand from infrastructure and construction activity remains steady in the region.
The latest increase is expected to impact construction costs for ongoing housing and development projects, particularly in northern markets where cement consumption is concentrated.
Cement dispatches rose 12.54 percent year-on-year in January, largely driven by a sharp rebound in exports, data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) showed.
Total dispatches stood at 4.538 million tonnes in January, compared with 4.032 million tonnes in the same month last year. While domestic demand showed only moderate improvement, exports provided the biggest lift, highlighting the sector’s growing reliance on overseas markets amid uneven local construction activity.
