Punjab Opens Registration for Fancy Vehicle Number Plate Auction

The Punjab government has started online registration for the auction of vehicle fancy numbers across the province. Citizens can apply for their preferred numbers through the e-auction mobile application and web portal. The last date for registration is March 2.

The Punjab Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board, has introduced a digital e-auction system. Through this system, online bidding will be conducted for fancy numbers of motorcycles, motor cars and commercial vehicles.

According to the authorities, applicants can submit their requests from home using the mobile application or the official website. The department stated that details of successful bidders will also be displayed on the e-auction app and web portal.

Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf said the system has converted the traditional auction process into a technology-based system. He said the initiative provides an online facility for citizens and reflects the use of digital systems in government services.
