The Punjab School Education Department has continued its initiative to prepare health profiles for students across the province to enhance their health and academic performance.
According to preliminary surveys, 258,000 students face minor health issues, 37,000 have moderate problems, and 8,500 students experience severe health difficulties.
Vision issues affect 32,500 students mildly, 2,560 moderately, and 2,349 severely.
Hearing problems were reported in 21,000 students mildly, 21 students moderately, and 1,341 severely. Mobility challenges, including walking or climbing stairs, affect 16,000 students mildly, 2,061 moderately, and 1,232 severely.
The education department emphasized providing special facilities and a comprehensive learning strategy for students with additional needs.
Schools are also distributing free milk and biscuits to improve children’s health.
Once health profiles are completed, every student will receive individual care and necessary medical support, aiming to improve both health and educational outcomes.
