The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a comprehensive Ramadan Relief Plan to provide maximum ease and comfort to the public ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
KP Chief Secretary, Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a high-level meeting to review province-wide preparations for Ramadan. During the meeting, he issued detailed directives to relevant departments and district administrations to ensure smooth implementation of the plan.
The Chief Secretary announced that price monitoring desks have been established in all districts to maintain continuous oversight of essential commodity prices.
He directed authorities to continue strict action against hoarding, adulteration, inflation, and profiteering. Additional price magistrates have been assigned to ensure swift and effective enforcement.
He emphasized the importance of cooperation and mutual respect, instructing officials to maintain close coordination with market associations and the trader community.
District administrations were also directed to treat all citizens, including street vendors, with dignity, compassion, and in accordance with the law.
The meeting was informed that, in view of the sanctity of Ramadan, a joint strategy is being developed in collaboration with religious scholars to discourage adulteration, price hikes, and profiteering. Public awareness will also be promoted through Friday sermons, highlighting moral responsibility during the holy month.
In addition, authorities have prepared comprehensive plans for traffic management, market cleanliness, and the organized elimination of professional begging to maintain order and dignity in public spaces throughout Ramadan.
The meeting was further briefed that, with support from philanthropists and welfare organizations, Ramadan Dastarkhwans will be set up at various locations to provide meals to the needy and deserving. Coordination is also underway with relevant institutions to ensure uninterrupted electricity and gas supply.
To address public complaints promptly, dedicated WhatsApp numbers have been issued in all districts, allowing citizens to report price hikes or shortages. Complaints can also be submitted through the Marastyal App.
The Chief Secretary reaffirmed that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains fully committed to facilitating the public during Ramadan and will utilize all available resources to provide maximum relief during the blessed month.
