The government of Saudi Arabia has announced tough penalties for individuals who fail to report visitors staying beyond the validity of their visit visas.
According to Saudi Public Security, anyone who does not inform authorities about a visitor overstaying their visa could face a fine of up to SAR 50,000 (Rs. 3.73 million), imprisonment for as long as six months, or both.
In an official statement shared on social media, Public Security urged citizens and residents to promptly report any holders of visit visas who remain in the Kingdom after their permitted stay has expired. Authorities warned that failure to comply could result in strict legal consequences.
Officials further clarified that if the violator is an expatriate resident who neglects to report such overstays, they may also face deportation from the Kingdom.
The statement also advised both Saudi nationals and foreign residents to avoid offering any form of assistance, including transportation, employment, housing, shelter, or other support, to individuals who violate residency, labor, or border security regulations.
