The City Traffic Police Lahore reported that its AI based enforcement system tracked 26 million motorcycle movements across the city over the past 15 days, with data showing a 98.68 percent helmet compliance rate.
Officials said the figures point to growing public awareness about road safety and stronger adherence to traffic laws. Separate AI monitoring of 6.2 million motorcycle movements detected 1,466 one way violations, accounting for just 0.023 percent of the total.
A spokesperson for the traffic police said authorities are taking strict action despite the low violation ratio. Police are impounding vehicles involved in one way breaches, calling the offense a serious threat to public safety.
The department urged riders to follow traffic rules, avoid one way driving, and refrain from reckless behavior to ensure safer roads and prevent inconvenience for others.
