The Government of Sindh has directed all educational boards across the province not to schedule examinations during Holy Week and Easter, requiring a temporary adjustment to the existing board exam calendar.
In a notification issued on February 23, 2026, the Universities and Boards Department instructed chairmen of all educational boards to ensure that no examination papers are held from April 2 to April 6, 2026.
The department ordered boards to revise any previously announced timetables and submit compliance reports on an urgent basis. Authorities have allowed examinations to resume from April 7 onward.
The directive follows instructions from the Chief Minister of Sindh regarding the scheduling of board exams during Holy Week and Easter.
Earlier, the Sindh Education Department’s Steering Committee had finalized the examination schedule. Under the approved plan, annual matriculation examinations for Classes IX and X are set to begin on March 31 after Eid, while intermediate examinations are scheduled to start on April 15. The meeting was chaired by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah.
