A high-level meeting of parliamentarians from Hazara Division was held at Pakhtunkhwa House, chaired by Sohail Afridi, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Key Decisions and Announcements
- Dualization of Haripur–Mansehra GT Road:
The Chief Minister confirmed that the provincial government would provide financial support and full cooperation for the dualization of the road, which is under federal and National Highway Authority control, to facilitate public transit. - Special Development Package:
A Rs200 billion comprehensive development package for Hazara Division was announced, with Rs50 billion earmarked specifically for tourism projects, aimed at leveraging the region’s natural beauty and tourist destinations.
- Consultative Sessions for Local Projects:
A separate consultative session will be held with parliamentarians to propose schemes for inclusion in the package, ensuring practical and sustainable development aligned with local needs. - Annual Development Program (ADP) Planning:
Development for the next fiscal year will focus on large-scale, high-impact projects, with priority on completing ongoing schemes to deliver tangible benefits to the public. All PC-1 documents for projects will be finalized before approval of the ADP to ensure transparency and efficient resource use. - Administrative and District Reforms:
A notification for granting district status to Allai was announced to improve local governance and service delivery. - Sectoral Investments:
Significant investments will be made in health and education, with a special focus on the backward districts of the province.
The meeting was attended by the Speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and elected members of the National and Provincial Assemblies from Hazara Division.
