Skywatchers are bracing for a rare celestial treat as the Meteorological Department (PMD) confirms that a Total Lunar Eclipse will occur during the holy month of Ramadan on March 3, 2026.
According to official data, the eclipse will be visible from various regions including Asia, Australia, and the Americas. In Pakistan, the phenomenon will be partially visible specifically during the moonrise.
Because several phases of the eclipse coincide with daylight hours, local observers will catch the concluding stages of the event as the moon ascends.

The event, popularly known as a “Blood Moon,” occurs when the Earth aligns perfectly between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow across the lunar surface and giving it a distinct reddish glow. This will be the only total lunar eclipse of the year and the final one until late 2028.
