The Sindh government has directed all government offices across the province to immediately implement strict fire safety arrangements.
According to official instructions, all offices must fully comply with fire safety regulations. The use of LPG cylinders inside government offices has been strictly banned. In addition, security guards are required to remain on duty at all offices around the clock.
The provincial government has also ordered that firefighting equipment be installed in every government office. Fire alarm systems must be set up to ensure early detection and timely response in case of an emergency.
All office staff are to receive proper fire safety training. Emergency contact numbers must be clearly displayed at prominent locations within office premises. Special contact numbers for Rescue 1122 must also be made available.
Authorities have further instructed that regular inspections of electrical appliances be carried out to prevent fire hazards. Offices have been ordered to remove garbage and any flammable materials from their premises.
Clear access routes must be maintained so fire brigade vehicles can reach buildings without obstruction in the event of a fire. The government has also ordered comprehensive fire safety audits of all government departments.
In addition, departments have been directed to conduct regular fire contingency drills to ensure staff preparedness and effective emergency response.
