KAPCO Confirms Leadership Change Following CEO Resignation

Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO) has announced that Chief Executive Officer Shahab Qader Khan is stepping down from his position.

The company, in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), stated that Shahab Qader Khan resigned from his role with effect from February 26, 2026. Following his resignation, Muhammad Masood has been appointed as acting chief executive officer until further notice.

Muhammad Masood currently serves as General Manager Finance and Chief Financial Officer of KAPCO, bringing financial leadership experience to the interim role.

Shahab Qader Khan had assumed the position of CEO on January 22, 2025, and remained in the role for just over a year.

KAPCO, one of Pakistan’s major independent power producers (IPPs), was incorporated on April 25, 1996, as a public limited company. The company owns, operates, and maintains a power plant located in Muzaffargarh, Punjab.

The power plant was originally developed by the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in phases between 1985 and 1996. Later in June 1996, KAPCO was privatized through international competitive bidding conducted by the Privatisation Commission.
