HMD Vibe Gets a Budget Variant Named Similar to the Legacy “Lumia” Phones

HMD has launched a new smartphone called the Luma. Despite the name, it is not related to the former Lumia brand. The device appears similar to the HMD Vibe, though it uses a more entry-level processor.

Design and Display

The HMD Luma features a 6.67-inch LCD with a resolution of 720 × 1,604 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother scrolling compared to the 90Hz screen found on the Vibe.

The phone includes several traditional features that are becoming less common in modern smartphones. It offers a 3.5mm headphone jack and an FM radio receiver. Stereo speakers are also included for media playback.

The device supports Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless audio connectivity. It is available in Titanium and Blue color options.

Internals and Software

The Luma runs on the Unisoc T615 chipset, a 12nm processor built with Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 cores. It comes with 4GB of RAM and offers 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is available for storage expansion. The phone ships with Android 15 out of the box.

Unlike the Vibe 5G model, the Luma is limited to 4G connectivity and supports dual SIM functionality.

Cameras

The HMD Luma includes a 50MP rear camera sensor, matching the camera specification of the 5G version of the Vibe. On the front, the device features an 8MP selfie camera, which represents an upgrade over the Vibe 4G model.

Battery and Pricing

The smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery and supports 18W charging through a USB-C 2.0 port.

The HMD Luma has been listed on HMD’s websites in Nigeria and Ghana, but pricing details have not been disclosed. A teaser posted on Instagram indicates that the device is “coming soon,” suggesting availability information will be announced shortly.
