The Punjab government has launched a free home delivery service from Model Bazaars under the “Sahulat on the Go” initiative on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Officials said the initiative aims to provide relief to citizens during Ramadan and ease the impact of rising prices.
During a briefing to Commissioner Rawalpindi Abdul Aamer Khattak, authorities stated that the free home delivery service is operational at the Model Sahulat Bazaar Rawalpindi. Since the start of Ramadan, 360 deliveries have been completed.
The service prioritizes senior citizens, persons with disabilities and women. Ramadan Sahulat Bazaars are operating across Rawalpindi Division, including Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree and Attock. Essential commodities are being sold at controlled rates in these districts.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Abdul Aamer Khattak directed deputy commissioners to ensure the availability and quality of food items at Sahulat Bazaars. He instructed Price Control Magistrates to conduct daily inspections and take action against hoarding and profiteering.
He also ordered officials to maintain cleanliness, security, parking arrangements and access to clean drinking water at the bazaars. He urged citizens to use the Sahulat Bazaars and report complaints to the district administration for prompt action.
