The Academic Council of Bacha Khan University, Charsadda (BKUC), approved the establishment of a Law Department at the institution.
The meeting, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khan Alam, focused on academic and administrative matters. Participants also held detailed discussions on ensuring the implementation of various policies issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
During the meeting, participants emphasized the need to align the university’s curriculum with HEC guidelines. They also stressed the importance of further improving the semester system and enhancing transparency in the examination process.
A comprehensive discussion was held regarding the launch of the proposed Law Department.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chancellor Dr. Khan Alam said that in view of the growing demand for legal education and regional needs, the university is planning to introduce a modern law program that aligns with contemporary requirements.
He directed the relevant authorities to complete all necessary legal and administrative formalities as soon as possible so that students can be provided with quality legal education in the near future.
The vice chancellor reiterated that providing quality education and promoting research remain the university’s top priorities. He also instructed that HEC policies must be implemented in letter and spirit to ensure academic standards remain aligned with national benchmarks.
