Iranian Drone Strikes CIA Station in Saudi Arabia

An Iranian drone attack has reportedly hit a CIA station operating inside the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia, as hostilities in the region continue to widen and increasingly target American diplomatic facilities.

According to reports, the CIA presence at the embassy compound in Riyadh was impacted during an attack earlier this week.

The US Embassy in Riyadh came under drone attack in the early hours of Tuesday, with two drones reportedly striking the compound and causing a small fire. The incident triggered fresh security warnings from Washington, which has urged Americans across a wide stretch of the region, spanning from Egypt eastward, to leave due to rising risks and the potential for further attacks.

US President Donald Trump said the conflict is moving ahead of schedule and signaled retaliation, saying a response would come “soon,” without providing details.

The reported strike in Saudi Arabia comes amid a broader pattern of drone activity around US diplomatic sites in the Gulf. Late Tuesday, a drone struck a US consulate in Dubai.

Meanwhile, US Central Command’s chief, Admiral Brad Cooper, said Iran has fired hundreds of ballistic missiles and deployed thousands of drones during the escalation.

With drone and missile incidents now being reported across multiple Gulf states, the latest developments are likely to intensify security measures at US missions and further raise the risk of a wider regional spillover.
