Ignite to Launch Pakistan Venture Fund to Boost Startup Investment

The Ignite National Technology Fund, working under the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication Pakistan, has initiated a process to engage firms for establishing and managing the Pakistan Venture Fund (PVF), an initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s technology and startup ecosystem.

According to the announcement, the proposed venture fund is intended to improve access to early-stage financing for startups, enabling innovative companies to scale their ideas and compete in the digital economy. Officials say the initiative will help bridge funding gaps faced by emerging technology ventures and encourage private sector participation in the country’s growing startup landscape.

Ignite, a public sector organization mandated to support innovation and technological advancement, plans to run the venture fund through a professional fund management structure. The initiative is expected to attract experienced investment firms capable of identifying high-potential startups and supporting them with both capital and strategic guidance.

Interested firms have been invited to submit their applications within the stipulated timeline as part of the initial selection process. Once the process is completed, the selected firm or consortium will move forward to establish and manage the fund, marking another step in Pakistan’s push to strengthen its knowledge-based economy and digital innovation sector.
