Kuwait Imposes Nationwide Ban on Food Exports for Food Security

The Kuwaiti government has banned the export of all food products via land, sea, and air ports, the General Administration of Customs announced.

The decision follows Ministerial Decision No. (20) of 2026 by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, aimed at ensuring food security and stabilizing the local market amid regional developments.

Customs officials have been instructed to strictly enforce the ban and take action against violations. Authorities emphasized that inspections continue, and all monitoring indicators remain within safe limits.

The move underscores Kuwait’s commitment to protecting national security and maintaining adequate domestic food supplies.
