CDA to Demolish Illegal Garages Outside Homes in Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a public notice announcing a crackdown on illegally constructed garages outside residential houses across various sectors and areas of Islamabad.

The notice further warns that in case of non-compliance, strict legal action will be taken against the concerned property owners. Enforcement teams will demolish the illegal garages, and any loss resulting from the operation will be the responsibility of the owners. The authority stated that the move aims to protect government land and ensure safe and convenient access for the general public.

According to the authority’s enforcement directorate, several residents have built garages outside their homes by encroaching on government land and public pathways, creating obstructions for pedestrians and traffic.

The authority stated that such unauthorized structures have resulted in the illegal occupation of state land and public spaces, causing serious inconvenience for residents and disrupting smooth movement within neighborhoods. Officials noted that these structures not only violate civic regulations but also reduce the availability of shared public areas intended for community use.

The CDA has decided to launch a phased enforcement operation to remove all illegal and unauthorized garages. Through the public notice, property allottees and homeowners have been directed to voluntarily remove any such structures built outside their houses within one week of the notice being issued.
