vivo has revealed new details about the telephoto camera of its upcoming X300 Ultra, following earlier disclosures about the phone’s main rear sensor. The company recently also demonstrated the device’s video capabilities at MWC.
In a post on Weibo, vivo product manager Han Boxiao confirmed that the X300 Ultra will feature a fifth-generation Zeiss 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The module will use a customized Samsung HP0 sensor.
According to vivo, the telephoto camera will incorporate the company’s BlueImage technology. This system is designed to improve color accuracy, autofocus performance, power efficiency, and HDR capabilities.
The telephoto unit will also introduce upgraded image stabilization. vivo states that the system will deliver up to 3 degrees of stabilization, compared to the 1.2 degrees offered on the vivo X200 Ultra. The new setup is said to achieve CIPA 7.0-level stabilization.
The enhanced stabilization is expected to enable longer and steadier exposures, allowing the sensor to capture more light. vivo says this will significantly improve zoom performance in low-light environments.
In addition, the telephoto camera will support improved focus tracking with motion capture at up to 60 frames per second, helping it track fast-moving subjects more effectively.
The vivo X300 Ultra is expected to launch in China later this month and will also make its global debut for the first time.
