Multan Sultans have announced the signing of emerging national all-rounder Muhammad Shahzad ahead of the historic 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In a statement, the franchise highlighted Shahzad’s potential and his strong connection to the region.
“Multan Sultans are proud to announce the signing of dynamic all-rounder Muhammad Shahzad ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season,” the statement said.
The team added that the young all-rounder has the potential to influence matches with both bat and ball. It also noted that his journey from Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan) to Pakistan’s premier T20 league reflects both his hard work and the growing sporting talent emerging from the region.
Shahzad, however, described his selection as a dream come true and said it was an honor to represent South Punjab on Pakistan’s biggest T20 stage.
The franchise was recently rebranded from Sialkot Stallionz to Multan Sultans after being acquired by Gohar Shah’s CD Ventures for Rs. 200 million last week.
As part of their preparations for PSL 11, Multan Sultans made an adjustment to their squad by re-signing Shahzad, who had earlier been released despite being one of the three national cricketers signed by the franchise the day after the inaugural players draft last month.
The 2021 PSL champions, who won the title under the captaincy of national wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, will begin their PSL 11 campaign against three-time champions Islamabad United on March 28 in Lahore.
The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.
