Punjab Education Department Announces Major Transfers

The Punjab School Education Department has issued a notification for large-scale transfers and postings of senior officials across the province. The move aims to enhance governance and efficiency in the education sector.

According to School Education Secretary Mudassar Riaz, several Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and District Education Officers (DEOs) have been reassigned. Key changes include:

  • Nazir Hussain, CEO of Education Lahore, transferred as DEO Mianwali.
  • Tariq Mahmood, CEO of Education Rawalpindi, appointed as CEO of Education Lahore.
  • Muhammad Yasin Khan, CEO of Education Wazirabad, transferred to Rawalpindi, replaced by Asif Masood.
  • Rishad Nazar Abbas appointed as CEO of Education Rajanpur.
  • Services of Aqila Intikhab Khan, CEO of Education Jhang, withdrawn; Tanveer Ahmed posted as the new CEO of Jhang.
  • DEO Mianwali Malik Tariq Abbas removed from his position with immediate effect.

Officials stated that the reshuffle is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and service delivery in Punjab’s education sector.
