Pakistan has changed its visa issuance procedure due to security concerns, according to sources in the Interior Ministry.
Under the new policy, the Ministry of Interior has withdrawn from the authority to issue visa-on-arrival and prior-to-arrival visas. Pakistani visas will now be issued only by the country’s relevant embassies and diplomatic missions.
Sources in the Interior Ministry said the entire visa processing system will now operate through diplomatic channels. However, applicants will still be able to submit their visa requests through the existing online portal.
Once an online application is submitted, the case will be forwarded to the relevant Pakistani embassy for review. Visas will only be issued after the embassy grants clearance.
Officials say the changes have been introduced as part of measures to address security concerns related to visa issuance.
