The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has already started distributing fresh currency notes to the public for Eid-ul-Fitr 2026.
Market sources have informed ProPakistani that new currency notes have been supplied to commercial banks nationwide, whereby all citizens can fairly acquire them. Fresh notes can be obtained directly from bank branches or, where available, through ATMs dispensing high-quality notes.
Who Can Get Fresh PKR Notes From Banks?
- Any Pakistani citizen with a valid CNIC can get them.
- Bank account holders at commercial banks (some banks may prioritize account holders).
- Individuals visiting bank branches during Ramazan.
Overall, citizens can collect fresh notes early during Ramazan to avoid shortages. Another source said it is likely that fresh notes will be difficult to get as Eid nears.
Besides bank branches, some sellers have set up stalls and carts in busy bazaars across big cities in the country to sell new notes. However, they’re selling the new notes at higher-than-face-value rates.
The central bank is monitoring the situation closely to make sure that the distribution of fresh currency notes is completed and offered fairly to all citizens wherever needed.
Only those with references are getting the new notes… this is not a fair principle here.

Nothing to mention more on availability to the public but one can find someone on the street, even in front of State Bank building, selling new notes as many needed. Does it surprise anyone?

My bank says the fresh note have not yet come, though I have been visiting the bank daily. Now that the last working day is here, I know they have been cheating.
State bank completely failed to monitor the new notes distribution. No any banks in Peshawar are distributing new notes for all account holders only the selected one are facilitating.
