Oppo Watch X3 Debuts With New Health Sensors and Improved Display

Oppo has introduced the Watch X3 alongside its Find N6 foldable, bringing updates to its smartwatch lineup with a redesigned body, new health tracking features, and improved display performance.

Design and Display

The Oppo Watch X3 features a circular design built with TC4 titanium alloy, a material commonly used in aerospace and medical applications due to its corrosion resistance. The watch also introduces a redesigned strap with “bamboo joint” connectors, which combine metal links with fluororubber segments.

The display is protected by sapphire glass rated at over 8 on the Mohs hardness scale. It uses a 1.5-inch LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, the same as its predecessor. However, brightness has been increased by 36%, reaching up to 3,000 nits compared to 2,200 nits previously.

Oppo has reduced the size and weight of the watch. The Watch X3 measures 47.4mm in diameter, is 11.0mm thick, and weighs 43g. In comparison, the Watch X2 measured 47.6mm, had a thickness of 11.8mm, and weighed 49.7g. Oppo says the new model is 16% lighter and 6.4% thinner.

The Watch X3 is available in three colors: Global Star Orange, Gravity Black, and Infinite Titanium. The Gravity Black version uses a standard fluororubber strap, while the other two variants feature the “bamboo joint” strap.

Despite the slimmer build, the watch retains durability features, including 5ATM water resistance, IP68 rating, and IP69 certification for protection against high-pressure water.

Internals and Software

The Oppo Watch X3 is powered by the Snapdragon W5 chipset, though it is not specified whether this is the original version or the newer W5 Gen 2.

For connectivity, the watch supports 4G via eSIM, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC for access cards and public transport. Details regarding NFC functionality for global markets are yet to be confirmed.

Health and Fitness Features

The Watch X3 introduces continuous glucose monitoring, allowing real-time tracking and alerts for irregular readings. It also adds blood pressure monitoring and hypertension risk assessment.

These features are combined with existing health tracking tools, including ECG, vascular health analysis, heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, sleep analysis with sleep apnea detection, and wrist temperature measurement.

The watch supports over 100 sports modes and includes advanced metrics such as VO2 Max, lactate threshold, recovery time, aerobic training effect, and heart rate recovery. It also features an AI coaching system.

For outdoor activities, the device uses dual-band GPS (L1+L5) along with BeiDou, Galileo, and GLONASS for location tracking.

Battery and Pricing

The Oppo Watch X3 is equipped with a 646mAh battery, similar in size to the previous model. It delivers up to 3 days of heavy use, 5 days under typical use, and up to 16 days in battery saver mode.

Charging is rated at 7.5W, with a full charge taking 75 minutes. A 10-minute charge can provide up to 24 hours of use.

Pricing starts at $377 for the Gravity Black model. The Global Star Orange and Infinite Titanium versions are priced at $406. Global availability details yet to be announced.
