The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rescheduled the National T20 Cup 2026 final after persistent rain and a waterlogged outfield forced the postponement of the match at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar.
The final, originally scheduled for Thursday, was set to feature Abbottabad Region and Karachi Region Whites. However, steady rainfall prevented any play, and the toss could not take place, leaving officials with no choice but to delay the match.
A new date and venue will be confirmed in due course.
The postponement follows earlier weather-related disruption at the same venue, where the second semi-final was also affected by rain and abandoned without a ball being bowled in the second innings.
In that semi-final, Lahore Region Whites advanced to the final after their match against Abbottabad was washed out. Lahore Whites had posted 194 for six in their 20 overs before rain halted proceedings.
Openers Mohammad Ikhlaq scored 42 off 35 balls, including six fours, while Mohammad Faiq helped provide a solid start. Mohammad Imran then played a key role with an unbeaten 62 off 31 deliveries, hitting three fours and five sixes.
Abbottabad’s chase of 195 never began due to continued rainfall, resulting in the match being abandoned.
With no result possible, Lahore Whites progressed based on their superior standing in the group stage.
Led by Fakhar Zaman, Lahore Whites topped their group with three wins from four matches, collecting six points and a net run rate of 1.600. They will now await the rescheduled final against Karachi Region Whites.
