Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Thursday rejected reports claiming that one of its flights faced a missile attack near Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), calling the claims “baseless and false.”
The reports had suggested that a PIA aircraft narrowly avoided a missile incident while landing at Fujairah airport earlier this week. In a statement posted on X, the airline said no such incident occurred and clarified that the claim had no factual basis.
It also stated that neither the airline nor its spokesperson had issued any statement suggesting such an event. PIA urged the public and media outlets to avoid sharing unverified information.

Separately, the airline confirmed that it had suspended flights to Fujairah for 48 hours starting Wednesday due to the prevailing security situation in the region amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The spokesperson added that, for the time being, PIA operations in the UAE would be limited to Al Ain.
