The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has announced a new program aimed at expanding global freelancing opportunities for Pakistani engineers by training 5,000 professionals to work on international digital platforms.
PEC Chairman Wasim Nazir said the training will be offered online under the Global Engineering Freelance Initiative, according to a report by 24NewsHD TV.
Online Training for Global Freelance Platforms
Under the program, engineers will receive guidance on how to work on international freelancing platforms and compete in the global digital market.
Participants will learn how to create strong professional portfolios and secure their first freelance projects.
The initiative aims to help engineers adapt to the growing shift toward digital and remote work in the global engineering sector.
AI-Based Career Assessment
As part of the program, participants will undergo a career assessment using artificial intelligence to evaluate their skills and professional capabilities.
Officials say the assessment will help engineers identify suitable freelance opportunities and improve their competitiveness in international markets.
Boosting Engineering Exports
PEC expects the initiative to increase the export of engineering services and generate foreign exchange for the country.
Officials believe the program will also support Pakistan’s integration into the global digital economy by enabling young engineers to access international clients and projects.
Applications Open in April
According to the council, the online training course is expected to begin in the third week of April.
Engineers registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council will be eligible to apply for the program.
