Qualcomm is expected to introduce its next-generation Snapdragon flagship processors in September, with leaks pointing to two models in the lineup.
Two Flagship Chips Expected
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming lineup will include the SM8950 and SM8975 chipsets.
The SM8950 is believed to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the SM8975 is expected to launch as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.
Both chips are said to be built on TSMC’s 2nm process and use a 2+3+3 CPU architecture.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Details
The SM8950 variant is tipped to feature an Adreno 845 GPU along with 12MB of graphics memory.
It is also expected to support up to quad-channel LPDDR5X RAM and include 6MB of last-level cache.
Pro Variant Brings Higher-End Specs
The SM8975, which is expected to be the Pro model, may include an upgraded Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB of graphics memory.
It is also said to support either quad-channel 24-bit LPDDR6 RAM or quad-channel 16-bit LPDDR5X RAM, along with 8MB of last-level cache.
Additional Chip in Development
The tipster also claims that Qualcomm is working on a separate Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 chipset, although it is expected to offer lower specifications compared to the Elite models.
Launch Timeline
Qualcomm typically unveils its flagship processors in September, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 announced during the same period previously.
