Rupee Dominates Top Currencies This Week As Iran War Hurts Western Economies

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) closed in green against the US Dollar (USD) for the 127th consecutive day on Friday.

Meanwhile, it posted gains against all of the other major currencies during today’s session.

The PKR closed at 279.17 after gaining three paisas against the US Dollar today.

A trade texted ProPakistani that the PKR is hurting foreign currencies this week, with geo-economic pressures weighing heavily on the US and its allies. Western countries have suffered overwhelming humiliation at the hands of Iran during the ongoing Gulf War. Still, the rupee has some room for correcting itself if oil futures contract next week, she added.

Other Currencies

PKR gained a paisa each against the UAE Dirham (AED) and the Saudi Riyal (SAR).

Meanwhile, it gained 76 paisas against the British Pound (GBP) and 91 paisas against the Euro (EUR).

It gained Rs. 1.5 against the Australian Dollar (AUD) and 32 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
