The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, has approved a new Master of Science (MS) program in the Department of Media and Communication at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU), Shaheed Benazirabad.
The new program is considered a significant step forward for the university and provides a valuable opportunity for students who wish to pursue advanced studies in journalism and media.
The initiative is expected to expand access to higher education in central Sindh, allowing students to benefit from quality research and advanced learning within their own region.
However, the program will officially begin after final approval and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) are granted by the Sindh Higher Education Commission, for which a request has already been submitted.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Madad Ali Shah highlighted that media and mass communication is a highly important and influential field in the modern era, playing a key role in shaping intellectual, social, and political trends in society.
He further stated that the approval of the MS program will strengthen academic and research activities at the university and provide students with strong opportunities to develop skills in research, analysis, and practical journalism in line with current demands.
The Vice Chancellor added that such programs not only enhance the reputation of institutions but also contribute to improving the overall standard of education in the country.
He expressed hope that graduates of the Media and Communication program will bring pride to the university and the province of Sindh through their skills, research, and professional contributions.
