The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has started recruitment to fill 2,439 vacant posts of medical officers, dental surgeons and nurses across the province. Provincial Health Minister Khaliqur Rehman said the hiring aims to address staff shortages and strengthen primary and secondary healthcare facilities.
The vacancies include 1,425 posts for medical officers, 250 for dental surgeons and 764 for nurses. Authorities will make appointments on a one-year contract, extendable based on performance.
He said candidates must hold recognized qualifications in their respective fields, complete house jobs where required and have valid registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC). Authorities have invited applications and will conduct interviews for shortlisted candidates on April 8.
The minister said the recruitment will improve the functioning of health centers and ensure better medical services for the public. He said the department will conduct the hiring process on merit and with transparency under its rules.
Applicants must submit required documents to the offices of the relevant divisional commissioners by April 8, while authorities will keep the merit list valid for one year. They advised candidates to submit one application per division and follow instructions available on the Health Department’s official platform.
