City Traffic Police Murree and National Highways and Motorway Police have issued a driving advisory across Murree and key highways, including the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway, G.T. Road, Islamabad-Peshawar route, and Hazara Expressway.
A spokesperson for the Motorway Police said wet conditions have made roads slippery, increasing the risk of accidents. Drivers have been advised to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and ensure that headlights and wipers are functioning properly.
Authorities have also urged motorists to avoid sudden braking, refrain from using mobile phones while driving, and remain fully focused on the road. In case of assistance, travelers can contact the Motorway Police helpline at 130.
A spokesperson for City Traffic Police Murree warned that continuous rainfall may trigger landslides in hilly areas. Authorities have advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel during this period.
Drivers traveling in mountainous terrain have been urged to exercise caution on turns and ensure their vehicle’s tyres, brakes, and wipers are in proper condition. Motorists should use fog lights during low visibility and stay updated on weather conditions. In emergencies, citizens can contact the traffic helpline at 051-9269200.
