New Weekly Schedule Announced for Islamabad Private Schools

The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority has announced that all private schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory will observe a four-day workweek.

In a notification issued by the authority, which operates under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, it was stated that private educational institutions will conduct on-campus academic activities from Monday to Thursday, with immediate effect until further orders.

The notification said the decision has been taken as part of the government’s austerity and fuel conservation measures. Under the directive, all Private Educational Institutions (PEIs) in Islamabad will remain closed for on-campus classes on Fridays, while the revised schedule will continue until further instructions.

The development comes amid similar measures in Punjab, where the provincial government has also revised the academic schedule by introducing changes to the weekly structure of educational institutions.

Punjab authorities have allowed schools, colleges, and universities to conduct online classes on Fridays, while on-campus academic activities have been limited to four days a week under a revised schedule.
