Pakistan has approved a series of strategic measures to strengthen its maritime sector and position the country as a regional transshipment hub, officials said on Thursday.
The approvals follow recommendations from a high-level committee led by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry.
Authorities said the move aims to boost port revenues, attract shipping lines, and integrate Pakistan more closely into global supply chains.

Minister Chaudhry emphasized that the government remains committed to modernizing port infrastructure, streamlining regulations, and creating an investor-friendly environment to unlock the full potential of Pakistan’s ports.
